Pink and Brown, of course, don’t like nicknames, but there’s nothing to do – everyone is already used to it. Outwardly, they are only vaguely similar to film actors – despite the presence Lionsgate in the credits, the developers failed to obtain the appropriate rights.
For the same reason, the plot of the film in this game, unlike the 2006 shooter Reservoir Dogs, does not repeat directly. Yes, he’s not really there. The point is that initially we control only the leader of the group who came to work – for example, Mr. Brown. You can try in his role to shoot everyone and get to the door, but then you still have to rewind time and switch to some Mr. White or Pink and bring them to the same door – in order to go further, you need to collect all the wards at the transition point.
If Brown is killed during the seconds you control him, time will automatically rewind and prompt you to take control of the next character to try to save the leader. The latter will repeat all the actions that you have already performed, and his partner will be given exactly the same number of seconds as the session of controlling the first character lasted. If during this time he doesn’t have time to prevent the death of the leader, or this Mister will also be killed – that’s it, “gameover”.
At first, it’s not so easy to understand all this – it seems that the system is illogical, stupid and unworkable. But then, when you get used to it, this mechanic reveals itself to the fullest and allows you to get out of any trouble quite beautifully and tactically competently. You begin to forcibly rewind time yourself, every now and then switching between different “dogs”, placing them wisely and covering each other, because you already know where the cops will run out from, when and who will shoot Orange in the head. As a result, we manage to act almost simultaneously, and we are rewarded for carrying out such joint attacks at the end of the mission.
Reservoir Dogs: Bloody Days – a nice isometric tactics, somewhat reminiscent of Super Time Force And Hotline Miami. But at the same time, it has its own zest, a signature bloody style, music recognizable by its mood and, in general, a fairly accurately conveyed atmosphere of the debut film Quentin Tarantino.
Pros: interesting time rewind mechanics; dynamic and complex shootouts; stylish appearance; atmospheric music; you can feel the spirit and mood of the original film.
Cons: There’s not really a plot; all missions follow almost the same scenario; little content.
